The Philippine Tarsier
The Philippine Tarsier (Carlito Syrichta), locally known as Mawmag and now was one of the endangered species in the Philippines. It is only 65 - 160 mm in height and weighing 80 - 160 g., making it one of the smallest primates.
Like all Tarsiers, the Philippine tarsier eyes are fixed in its skull, they cannot turn in their sockets. Instead, a special adaptation in the neck allows its round head to be rotated 180 degrees. Their huge eyes provide this nocturnal animal with excellent night vision. The large membranous ear are mobile, allowing them to hear any movement.
